

Experimental Knits
This grouping demonstrates various techniques or methods used to create a unique product. Some consist of knowledge and manipulation of knit structures, while some rely more on yarn experimentation to achieve a desired goal.

Wholegarment dress with Channels
Customer wanted to knit a Wholegarment dress with open channels around the circumference of the skirt to run wiring. This was accomplished using a half gauge tubular method and knit on a 4-needle bed machine.

TPU Non-Slip Socks
These five-toe socks are knit with an intarsia plating technique on the bottom of the foot using a TPU yarn. This yarn is the heat set and pressed in order to activate the non-slip properties.

Plating for Wholegarment
This sample demonstrates a links structure knit at full gauge in tubular, and using plating with independent carriers. This is a new technique only possible on the SWG-XR series machine.

Variable Stitch
While a really old technique, using a variable stitch to achieve certain design elements is really successful. This piece demonstrates how two equal weight yarns striping can be used to create an image just by varying the stitch loop length.

Mesh Military Pants
These breathable undergarments developed for a military project, demonstrate a half gauge technique on the front fly, as well as a pick up stitch inlay for the elastic waistband, which is knit all in one piece.

Mesh Spacer fabric
This fabric was designed with breathability in mind, but also thickness. The spacer quality makes the fabric thicker, while the pointelle structure ensures the breathability.
